What happens to text you paste into Phravv, and what stays on this device.
What you paste
When you run a rewrite, the text is sent to Phravv to produce the paraphrase. Phravv then sends it to the model through Vercel AI Gateway, along with an anonymous id. The request is only for that rewrite.
Fenced code blocks, the text between ``` marks, are replaced with placeholders before the model sees them, then put back into the result. Phravv does not keep a server-side copy of the paste, the code, or the rewrite, and it does not sell what you paste.
Anonymous cookie and rate limits
Phravv does not ask you to sign up or create an account. On a visit, the site sets an httpOnly cookie named phravv_anon_id. The value is a random id. The cookie is SameSite Lax, path /, and lasts 365 days. On the production site it is also Secure.
That id, and a shortened form of your IP address, are used to count rewrites. An IPv6 address is shortened to the /64 network prefix before it is counted. The limits are 40 rewrites per UTC day and 2 rewrites in 20 seconds, counted for the cookie and for that shortened address. The daily count resets at midnight UTC. The counts live in memory on the server process that handled the request. Your paste is not written into those counts.
On this device
When a rewrite finishes, Phravv can save the original and the result in this browser. Up to 15 recent pairs are kept, each with the original text, the rewrite, and the strength you chose. They are stored in local storage under the key phravv_history. They stay on this device until newer rewrites replace them or you clear site data. Your color theme is stored in this browser the same way, under phravv_theme.
Page views
Phravv uses Vercel Web Analytics, included on the pages, to record page views. The text you paste is not sent to that analytics service.
